 "The 19th IEEE International Conference on Transparent Optical Networks (ICTON 2017 - https://icton2017.udg.edu/), will be hosted in Girona, Catalonia, Spain (from July 2nd to 6th, 2017). The conference is one of the largest conferences taking place every year in Europe focusing in the fields of optical communication systems and networks as well as associated photonic technologies.

The members of the AIT's research group of "High Speed Networks and Optical Communications (NOC)" will have a strong presence at this conference with several contributed presentations, while they will also act as co-organizers of a couple of special sessions and workshops under the umbrella of EU Research Projects wherein the NOC group is participating (i.e. DIMENSION, ACINO, INSPACE, BLUESPACE) and Dr. Tomkos is leading as Principal Investigator on behalf of AIT or/and as Technical Manager of the relevant EU-wide project consortia."
